Daniel Twedt

Daniel Twedt is the U.S. Transhumanist Party's 2024 U.S. Vice-Presidential Candidate since May 2023 and Director of Citizen and Community Science since August 2023.[1][2] He is the running mate of U.S. Transhumanist Party-endorsed 2024 U.S. Presidential candidate Tom Ross.

Twedt previously ran for City Council in Thousand Oaks, California, in 2018, 2020, and 2022. During his campaigns he earned thousands of votes and spread awareness of the U.S. Transhumanist Party in local newspapers.

In the 2020 Thousand Oaks City Council race, Twedt gained 3,437 votes, or 3% of the total.[3] During his campaign, he spread awareness of the U.S. Transhumanist Party in local newspapers. An excerpt from the Acorn Newspaper in Thousand Oaks characterized Mr. Twedt as “a member of the Transhumanist Party” with “a platform tied to technology and the environment.” Mr. Twedt was cited as expressing the view that “government needs be way more open-source, way more transparent”.[4]

In 2022, Daniel Twedt ran for the third time for City Council in Thousand Oaks, California. This time he earned 1,183 votes, or 0.9% of the total.[5] His profile in the Thousand Oaks Acorn specifically mentions the U.S. Transhumanist Party Core Ideals, and he also discussed the USTP during candidate forum events.[6] The U.S. Transhumanist Party held an extensive conversation with Daniel Twedt at its Virtual Enlightenment Salon on September 25, 2022, where he explained in detail his vision for Thousand Oaks and its areas of alignment with transhumanism.
