FM 2030 (born Fereidoun M. Esfandiary, Persian: فریدون اسفندیاری) was a Belgian-born American-Iranian futurist, philosopher and transhumanist born October 15, 1930 in Brussels. He was also an athlete, author, consultant and teacher. He became notable as a transhumanist with the book Are You a Transhuman?: Monitoring and Stimulating Your Personal Rate of Growth in a Rapidly Changing World, published in 1989.[1][2] Upon his death, the was the first person to be vitrified, rather than frozen, at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.[3]
