Iron Man
Iron Man is a 2008 science fiction/science fantasy movie starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts.[1][2]
Plot
A billionaire inventor conducting weapons tests overseas is kidnapped by terrorists and almost killed. In order to save himself from a piece of shrapnel lodged in his chest, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) creates a powerful device. He later returns to his native country (The USA) and begins a mission to protect people from crime and terrorism.
Transhumanist Elements
The device used to power Iron Man could be said to be a technological advance being used to saved lives. This is very transhumanist in itself.
History
Iron Man would later be seen as the birth of the Marvel studios franchise.
Iron Man would return in Iron Man 2, and later Iron Man 3. He also appeared in the Avengers, Avengers 2, and Avengers age of Ultron. And is set to return to Marvel movies with appearances in Avengers Infinity war, and an as yet untitled sequel to that movie.
