Space seeding, also know as directed panspermia, is a hypothetical method whereby life could have originated on Earth from an extra-solar source, as well as a proposed method of spreading life beyond Earth in the future.
The method involves breeding highly adaptive micro organisms that can be frozen for long periods necessary for space exploration and appropriate technology to allow adequate dissemination upon reaching a targeted planetary system.
In September 2016 German theoretical physicist Claudius Gros wrote in "Developing Ecospheres on Transiently Habitable Planets: The Genesis Project" argued for creating a Cambrian explosion of life on newly discovered planets.
