Carboncopies Foundation is a non-profit organization researching mind uploading technologies founded by Randal Koene. Their website summarizes their goal as promoting R&D for Whole Brain Emulation.
Carboncopies supports research into reverse engineering neural tissue with broader aims at complete brains, toward eventual Whole Brain Emulation (aka WBE for short). They also promote public awareness of, and advocate for, the development of neuroprostheses that reproduce the functions of the mind, with the eventual goal of creating Substrate-Independent Minds (aka SIM for short).
The organisation produces roadmaps and other publications, reviews literature and media coverage, and engages in scientific collaborations to advance these goals.
