Dan Elton (born 1988) is an American AI researcher living near Boston, Massachusetts. He is the recipient of the 2020 Foresight Institute AI fellowship and the 2020 Kurzweil Prize for Best AGI Idea for his work on self-explaining AI . He edits H+Pedia as User:delton. He has a Ph.D. in physics from Stony Brook University which he earned in 2016.

Transhumanist activism

Elton was one of the earliest donors and supporters of Zoltan Istvan's 2016 presidential campaign. In 2019, he founded the Maryland Transhumanist Party, where he served as Chair. He was co-organizer for the DC Transhumanist Meetup between 2019 - 2021. In 2020 he was appointed as Director of Scholarship for the U.S. Transhumanist Party.[1] He is an active member of Humanity+.
