Italian Futurism was an avant-garde movement founded in Milan in 1909, initially primarily artistic, rejecting the old and embracing of new technologies. Such futurists were known for their specialist cuisine known as futurist meals.

The movement would go on to be highly supportive of agressive militarism and nationalism. Following the experiences of futurists enlisted in World War 1, support for the movement largely ended.

There is no overlap with modern transhumanism or futurism, except in a small artistic context
