The Three Supers is a succinct definition of transhumanism based on summarising it into three principle areas:
- Super intelligence
- Super happiness or super well-being.
- Super longevity
Background
The term appears to have been first coined by Marco Vega and Peter Brietbart in their popular 2013 video PostHuman: An Introduction to Transhumanism.
They were influenced strongly by Aubrey de Grey for super-longevity, Ray Kurzweil for super-intelligence and David Pearce for super-wellbeing.[2]
In politics
In 2018, David Wood suggested in Transcending Politics the need for a forth 'super' in the form of super democracy, the need to apply foresight and ethical technological transformation towards political institutions.
